Welcome from the Principal

I am excited to share a glimpse into Immanuel Lutheran School as you navigate through our website to learn more about the possibilities for your child. The educational program challenges students spiritually and academically to prepare God's children for the future. The faculty and staff are committed to partnering with families to find strategies to encourage and engage students into active learning

Allow me the opportunity to tell you a little about me. I lead by continuously learning as much as I can to grow spiritually and academically. I came to Immanuel in 2015. Before moving to St Louis, I served for a combined 26 years in Lutheran schools in Nashville and Atlanta. Along with 14 years as a principal and 4 years as an assistant principal, I have taught preschool, kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades as well as middle school math, coordinated a blended (online and in class) learning environment with middle schoolers and school-wide art, drama, and music. My two favorite subjects have to be algebra and art!

I believe in collaboration among teachers and a strong parent-teacher partnership to impact student learning. At the helm of Immanuel's educational program, I continue to be the lead learner to refine my skills and provide the best possible leadership. I graduated with a BA degree in elementary education from Concordia University – Chicago and earned my Master’s in Educational Leadership at West Georgia University.  I have completed my coursework for my Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership and am working on my dissertation on teacher collaboration in a school that functions as a Professional Learning Community.

I look forward to meeting you when you visit Immanuel.

Blessings,

Wendy Morris, MEd
