Ms. Dunlop graduated from Maryville University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education and got her STEM Certification this past summer. She was recognized for her teaching abilities with the MACTE Outstanding Beginning Teacher Award, 2017 and the LEA Outstanding New Lutheran Elementary Teacher, 2019. In her own words,
"I’m thankful God has placed me at Immanuel where I have supportive coworkers who analyze best teaching practices and students who are willing to try new things. I especially enjoy integrating STEM into each subject. Students’ eyes light up when they first play something they coded themselves! Most of all, I love when students realize God’s love for them and for the world.
This year is particularly fun for me because I have students in fourth grade that I was a substitute teacher for when they were four and in Youth Group I see some of the high schoolers that I subbed for when they were in fourth grade!
When I’m not teaching the fourth graders, I enjoy teaching STEM programs through Maryville University. I also enjoy volunteering with our Youth Group, the LCMS Youth Gathering, and Teens Encounter Christ. I love traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends- especially my two-year-old niece!"
